ASDA plans to open 18 new stores
Wal-Mart’s ASDA has announced today that it plans to open eighteen new stores all across the United Kingdom.
This is in addition to the expansion plans that ASDA hopes to carry out on fifteen of its already existing stores, and to creating a brand new eco-friendly store. This expansion plan would create more than eight thousand new jobs in the future, stated the announcement.
In 2006, ASDA had opened twenty five new outlets, creating job opportunities to more than a seven thousand people all across the United Kingdom.
One of the store’s first outlets will be based in Oldham, and this will be an ‘energy-efficient’ store, and would be built with bricks and timber that have been recycled from an old mill that formerly stood on the development site.
